After last year's sold out performance Tuxedo Moon returns to Prague to present their new album Bardo Hotel Soundtrack. The cult heroes of West Coast rock started recording for the same label as the Californian anti-stars Residents, and share the electronic wizardry of German innovators Can and Brian Eno's ambient projects. Despite their temporary breakup in 1989 the band activity culminates again with sold out performances at Barcelona's Sonar Festival and Centre Pompidou in Paris.
Rova Saxophone Quartet / USA
4. 3. - Palác Akropolis, 19:30 / Rachot
Rova Saxophone Quartet, the stellar genre-bending all-saxophone ensemble, started at Berkeley, nurtured by the thriving Mills College free music scene. Rova's fierce commitment to creative music has taken them from a marginal place at the fringe of the avant-garde to a position as leaders in the new school of collective improvisation. The group worked with such noted boundary pushers as John Cage, Kronos Quartet, John Zorn, Fred Frith. Rova has become a leader in the movement of boundary-crossing music that has its roots in post-bop free jazz, avant-rock, and 20th century new music as well as traditional and popular styles of Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States.
Zita Swoon / Belgie
27. 3. - Palác Akropolis, 19:30 / Rachot
Since 1970's the Benelux countries became a rich source of experimenting musicians. The leading Belgian songwriter Stef Kamil Carlens was co-founder of the premium band dEUS. Between 1994-96 he recorded with them 3 highly successful albums and also his own legendary Moondog Jr. In 1997 Carlens left dEUS and started equally triumphant Zita Swoon, a band sailing like a magic spaceship between styles of past and future. On stage, Stef Kamil Carlens performs as a shaman, transforming the concert into a ritual. He comes to Prague with his latest project, A Band in a Box. The musicians play surrounded by the public with no PA system, using only microphone and instruments' amplifiers. Music dominates above the visual.

The Young Gods / Švýcarsko
27. 4. - Palác Akropolis, 19:30 / Rachot
The Young Gods were born between the punk era and the age of electronica, their sound is a violent collision of the industrial apocalypse and European classical music. With their first albums The Young Gods wrought a noisy yet unheard sonic revolution; by means of samplers, they create sounds that existed before in human fantasy only. After the successful and sold out last Prague double show they are back with hard and raw music for which they are best known and with new CD Super Ready/Fragmente.
Amazonia Ambient Project
28. 4. - Palác Akropolis, 15:00 / Rachot
The Young Gods & Jeremy Narby Three years after the sold out premiere Amazonia Ambient Project returns back to Akropolis in Prague. The performance mixes live improvisations by the Swiss electro-noise innovators The Young Gods, computer-processed soundscapes from the Amazonian rainforest, and narration by Jeremy Narby, American anthropologist-writer in the rank of Carlos Castaneda and Timothy Leary. "The Young Gods are masters of hallucinogenic soundscapes. They treate music in same way I challenge knowledge. They know how to mix sounds of nature with technology and make seamless fusion between natural and artificial sounds. And I am building bridges between science and shaman knowledge. Both me and them love to fuse genres and open gates of wisdom. Shamans could never achieve their goals without music."

Discordant, highly rhythmic guitars and the rolling, almost African drumming style give the music of The Ex its special character. The list of names they worked with reads like Who-Is-Who of the past 25 years: Tortoise, Tom Cora,Sonic Youth Chumbawamba, John Cale band, Shellac, Fugazi, John Butcher. Their albums were produced by Steve Albini
